JungKwanJang Enters Hispanic Market Through Superior Grocers Launch
Move follows new clinical findings presented at the 2026 International Conference on the Science of Botanicals, confirming Korean red ginseng’s benefits for cognitive health, blood sugar control, and healthy aging
CERRITOS, Calif., April 29, 2026 — Korea Ginseng Corp. US (KGCUS), maker of the Korean red ginseng brand JungKwanJang, announced the launch of its Pomegranate with Korean Red Ginseng and Hong Sam Won Delight products at Superior Grocers, one of Southern California’s largest independent supermarket chains serving predominantly Hispanic communities, marking the brand’s first direct entry into the U.S. Hispanic retail market.
The retail launch coincides with significant new clinical findings presented at the International Conference on the Science of Botanicals (ICSB), held April 20–23, 2026, in Mississippi. Researchers presented results from multiple studies confirming Korean red ginseng’s potential in supporting cognitive health, antioxidant activity, blood sugar regulation, and overall quality of life.
Among the findings, a 12-week randomized, placebo-controlled trial led by Professor Namhan Cho at Ajou University School of Medicine, involving 98 participants with prediabetes, showed that the red ginseng group demonstrated meaningful improvements across glycemic control, insulin-related, and glucose-related hormonal parameters compared with placebo.
A separate multicenter randomized controlled trial presented by Professor Hongsheng Tan of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine found that participants taking three grams of red ginseng daily for 12 weeks showed a significant reduction in oxidative stress markers compared with placebo, with no meaningful differences in adverse events, liver, or kidney function. Researchers also noted exploratory data suggesting potential benefits in sleep quality and physical well-being.
